Calligraphy Gallery
about me

nihon shodou geijitsu

welcome to the gallery

On these pages is a selection of my calligraphy, the result of more than thirty years of study in Japan. Although most items here are for sale, this site's primary intent is to display various forms of shodou in effort to promote its understanding and appreciation.

As you can see, the calligraphy is divided into galleries of different presentation media. Within each gallery you may find single characters words, multi-character phases, Japanese haiku poems or short verses in Chinese. Translation is typically provided.

When this logo appears, you're looking at one of my best selling pieces. The popularity of items like these Top Ten works influences much of what I create, guaranteeing that you'll keep seeing more of what you like.

Way back in 2001, my husband had been working on handmade kakejiku (hanging scrolls) so that we can offer an alternative to the factory-made designs. Stay tuned for some of these nice pieces!

Since moving to Orange County and having the baby, I haven't spent time making new works. I appreciate the kind emails, though, and I will consider custom orders on request.

If you are interested in making a purchase or if you have any questions at all, please email me (hakusui). Enjoy your stay.
